An Altoona woman was arrested after police reportedly found a handgun and drugs during a traffic stop over the Labor Day weekend. Arrested was 34-year-old Ashante Golson. Reportedly she was a passenger in a car that was stopped by police this past Saturday on the 600 block of 7th Street because there was no light on the rear license plate. According to a criminal complaint, a K9 officer was brought in, as the driver had an alleged history involving drugs. The K9 alerted police to a tote bag in Golson’s possession. During a search, drugs, drug paraphernalia, and a 9mm handgun were found. Golson has been charged with felony theft of property, misdemeanor firearms not to be carried without a license, and other related offenses. She has been placed in the Blair County Prison in lieu of bail.
