Following an arson attack on April 13, the Shapiro administration has spent over $6 million in public funds on repairs to the governor’s residence, but is withholding details for nearly a quarter of these expenses, including recipients and specific services. The administration and a nonprofit group managing a separate private donation fund, have also not disclosed donor identities, amounts, or how those funds will be used. A spokesperson for the governor has said state officials intend to release a list of donors to the fund, in the future, though it’s unclear when, or how detailed the disclosure will be.
