Two Altoona Women Jailed After Five Children And Dog Found Living In Squalor

Authorities in Blair County, arrested two women this week after reportedly finding five young children, one as young as a month old,  and a severely neglected dog in “deplorable conditions” at an Altoona apartment at Logan Hills.  The apartment was allegedly filled with garbage, filth, dirty dishes, old food, bugs, and feces.  The women have been identified as 24-year-old Gabriele Brown and 56-year-old Sheila Fox.  Both face charges, including child endangerment and animal neglect, and are held on $100,000 bail at the Blair County Prison.  Authorities say the dog has been placed in the care of the Central PA Humane Society.
