During a state committee meeting in State College on Saturday, the Republican Party of Pennsylvania officially endorsed State Treasurer Stacy Garrity as its candidate for the upcoming 2026 race for governor. Garrity will challenge incumbent Democratic Governor Josh Shapiro. Garrity, who is in her second term as Pennsylvania’s State Treasurer, responded to the endorsement in a statement released on Saturday saying she was deeply honored with receiving the endorsement. She went on to say, “This vote of confidence marks a pivotal moment in our campaign to restore strong, conservative leadership across the Commonwealth.”
