Bellefonte Man Arrested For Allegedly Trying To Stab Woman To Death

Spring Township Police in Centre County arrested a Bellefonte man for attempted homicide after he allegedly attempted to stab a woman to death during a domestic altercation yesterday.  The suspect, 44-year-old Jason Hannon, is accused of attacking the victim with a kitchen knife, attempting to force her to stab him, strangling her, and pushing clothing down her throat.  After the victim escaped, Hannon allegedly barricaded himself inside the home before stabbing himself in the chest, ending a brief standoff.  Hannon has been charged with attempted homicide, strangulation and other counts.  He is currently in the Centre County Prison.  His preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 1^st.
