City Police arrested an Altoona man on multiple felony charges after allegedly assaulting his female partner on Tuesday morning in Altoona. The incident began when Tyrone Smith, standing near his partner’s car on the 800 block of 8th Ave, reportedly grabbed her purse and started throwing her belongings into a storm drain. When his partner tried to stop him, Smith allegedly bit her and injured her hand. Following the assault, officers arrested Smith and found him in possession of a loaded gun with a defaced serial number. He is being held in the Blair County Prison on $350,000 cash bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 15th.
