Close to two-million Pennsylvanians will not receive their SNAP benefits next month due to the government shutdown. The Department of Human Services announced Friday that benefits will not be distributed until the shutdown is over and federal funds are released to the state. Even though benefits are currently held up, the department says new SNAP program requirements will still take effect on November 1st. Anyone in need of food assistance is encouraged to call 211 or visit feeding-p-a-dot-org.
