The Latest Shortage Is Turkey

turkey

America’s turkey flock has decreased to the smallest size in 40 years, partially due to an outbreak of bird flu, and because of that, expect prices to increase.  According to the American Farm Bureau, turkey prices are about 40% higher than they were last year, and there are no signs that will ease up over the coming weeks.  According to USDA data, wholesale turkey prices are expected to increase to $1.32 per pund.  That’s up from 94 cents a pound wholesale from last year.
