Sixteen-year-old Dillan Hufford of Altoona is facing felony charges as an adult following a June 2024 assault that left a victim with serious injuries. The Altoona Police Department responded to a report of a robbery and assault near a playground on 13th Avenue, where they found the victim with significant injuries to his face and head. According to a criminal complaint, the victim told officers he was knocked unconscious, and his dentures were destroyed in his mouth during the alleged attack by a group of juveniles. Police observed severe injuries including a swollen and bruised eye, cuts, a large lump on his head, and bleeding from his mouth. Due to the extent of his injuries, the man was flown to Pittsburgh for treatment. Security footage in the area reportedly showed four juveniles running from the scene. Hufford has been released on $50,000 unsecured bail. He faces charges including conspiracy to commit robbery, aggravated assault, and other related counts. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for November 19th.
