Altoona City Council has awarded a $413,000 engineering design contract to a Millersburg company, for the reconstruction of Prospect Pool. The project is slated to begin in spring 2026, leading to the pool’s closure for the 2026 season, with reopening planned for 2027. The design costs and an estimated $3 million in construction expenses will be covered by an anonymous donor who is an Altoona native. The redesigned complex will feature a walk-in shallow end, competition lanes, diving boards, a sliding board, solar water heating, and a splash pad.
