Authorities are identifying the hunter who was shot and killed in Juniata County earlier this week. Officials say 26-year-old Floyd Wengerd, who resided in Juniata County, was fatally shot by another hunter while they were participating in a “deer drive.” It’s when some members of the hunting party push deer out of hiding spots and towards the other hunters. Reportedly, crews who responded to the scene say the young man may have survived if winter weather hadn’t slow down the rescue mission. The shooting is being investigated as an accident.
