A 101-year-old State College resident and Air Force veteran, John Homan, who participated in 34 combat missions during WWII to help liberate France, has received the French Legion of Honor. This is the highest honor France can bestow and is awarded to individuals who have performed great service to France, regardless of citizenship. Homan is now Sir John Homan after earning the Legion of Honor. Homan will turn 102 next month.
