A house fire broke out yesterday morning, just behind UPMC Altoona. Fire crews were dispatched shortly before 7:30 to the intersection of 5th Street and Willow Avenue. Firefighters arrived within minutes to find heavy fire engulfing the second floor of the structure. All residents were able to escape the fire, and the blaze was quickly brought under control.
