2025 is shaping up to be the least productive year for the Pennsylvania General Assembly in over a decade. The Democratic-majority House, and Republican-led Senate were only able to pass 65 laws this year. The two sides were also unable to come to an agreement on the state budget for months after the deadline, leaving schools and counties without crucial funding. Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle say they look forward to returning to Harrisburg next year, to get more bills to the governor’s desk.
