FDA Issues Recall Of Potentially Radioactive Frozen Shrimp

The FDA is issuing a recall of potentially radioactive frozen shrimp.  It’s raw and 83-thousand bags of it were sold at Safeway, Price Chopper, Jewel-Osco and Lucky supermarkets in Pennsylvania, New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Vermont and New Hampshire.  It’s in one-pound bags with best buy dates of April 2027.  No illnesses have been reported but the FDA says repeat exposure to a radioactive isotope found in the shrimp can increase the risk of cancer.  If you have the frozen shrimp at home, you’re being urged not to eat it, but return it to your supermarket for a refund.
