Officials from the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) met with local leaders at the Flight 93 Memorial, in Somerset County, as Meyersdale continues to recover from severe flash flooding that occurred in May this year. Citing a rise in the frequency and intensity of such storms, PEMA Director Randy Padfield announced that the Shapiro Administration is doubling the state’s disaster response funding. The $20 million increase is designed to strengthen resources available to state agencies when disasters strike Pennsylvania communities.
