Two residents of Johnstown, 36-year-old Christopher Abrams and 35-year-old Sarah Lynch, were jailed following the discovery of more than a dozen animals living in “deplorable conditions” on the 200 block of Sell Street.  Acting on reports of animals trapped in an upstairs bedroom, Johnstown Police executed a search warrant on Sunday.  Officers noted that the stench emanating from the room was detectable from the street, where they could also hear dogs barking and whining.  Upon entering, investigators discovered a variety of animals—including dogs, chickens, turtles, reptiles, a duck, and a rabbit—living amidst trash, broken furniture, and animal waste.  Abrams and Lynch have been placed in the Cambria County Prison on numerous animal abuse related charges.  The animals have been taken in by Caola’s Canine Rescue located in Northern Cambria.
