lopez

An Altoona man faces criminal homicide charges following a fatal street fight early Sunday morning in the city.  At approximately 1 a.m., Altoona police arrived at the 400 block of S. Kettle Street to find a large brawl being de-escalated by bystanders.  According to police reports, 34-year-old Corey Lexus Lopez allegedly struck 41-year-old James Dunn during the altercation, causing Dunn to collapse and lose consciousness.  The Blair County Coroner’s Office later confirmed that Dunn, an Altoona resident, died at UPMC Altoona from injuries sustained during the fight with Lopez.  Lopez has been charged with criminal homicide, and other related counts, and has been placed in the Blair County Prison where bail has been denied.  His preliminary hearing has been scheduled for January 14th.
