wrta-logo-sm

Thirty-two-year-old Dominic Andrew Zungali, has rejected a plea deal of 10 to 25 years in prison, moving his child endangerment and torture case toward a jury trial.  Appearing in Blair County court yesterday, Zungali’s attorney stated the defendant felt the offer was “not fair.” The case involves five children, ages 2 to 7, found last August, living in “cages” made of overturned cribs within a home on the 200 block of Fall View Road, in East Freedom.   Investigators described the residence as having exposed wiring, the odor of urine, and children covered in their own waste.  Jury selection in this case is scheduled for April to decide if Zungali, and his wife Zoe will be tried together.  The two remain in custody on $150,000 bail each.  The charges against the couple include multiple felony counts of aggravated assault, child endangerment, unlawful restraint, and animal cruelty involving  pets found lying in their own waste without food or water.  The animals were removed by the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society.
