Tammy Auman, a 54-year-old Milesburg, Centre County woman, has been charged after allegedly abandoning five dogs in a remote, wooded area during freezing temperatures, resulting in potential suffering and injury. Two of the five dogs reportedly remain missing. Authorities investigated Auman earlier for animal neglect after officers responded to her home and found numerous dogs living in deplorable conditions. Later, police interviewed her and she claimed to have given the dogs to her daughter. Last month authorities were tipped off the dogs had actually been dumped. She is facing animal neglect charges, and her preliminary hearing has been scheduled for February 25th.
