Pennsylvania Game Commission Considering Change For Firearms Deer Season

deer

The Pennsylvania Game Commission is considering a change for firearms deer season later this year.  Board members will discuss a proposal that would move the start of that hunting season a week earlier, on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Those in favor of that plan say the move would promote participation by allowing residents to head out hunting before they have to worry about traveling for the Thanksgiving holiday.  If the proposal is adopted, the firearm bear season would also start a week earlier, and the early bear muzzle-loader, archery, and special firearms season would be shortened to one weekend.  The Game Commission Board will go over those plans during their meeting on January 23rd and 24th.
