A 43-year-old Duncansville man charged with possessing child pornography has been identified as an Altoona Area School District teacher. Jeremy Green was arrested after allegedly sending at least two photos of nude girls under the age of 12 via the “Kik” messaging app. The investigation began when an account was flagged by ‘Kik’ who then sent a report to law enforcement. Police then traced the account to Green’s residence. According to school district officials, the school was notified of the investigation last month and initially suspended Green without pay. However, following the formal filing of charges, the district released a statement recently confirming Green has been moved to unpaid leave, pending the final disposition of his case. Green is currently being held in jail in lieu of bail. He faces multiple felony charges, including the sexual abuse of children. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 12th.
