A Tyrone woman who served as a home health aide faces hundreds of identity theft charges for allegedly stealing over $7,000 from an elderly patient, to fund an online gambling addiction. According to the Tyrone Borough Police Department affidavit, 38-year-old Dottie Brenneman was granted full access to the victim’s financial information as part of her caregiving duties. The victim alerted authorities in July of last year after discovering a series of unauthorized bank transactions. Investigators determined that Brenneman used the stolen funds for personal expenses and digital gaming. She has been placed in the Blair County Prison in lieu of bail. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for Februart 17th.
