A 42 year old Martinsburg woman is in the Blair County Prison after allegedly attempting to ambush and murder her husband following a domestic dispute.  She has been identified as Renee Crawford.  Police say the shooting occurred behind the couple’s home on the 200 block of Woodlawn Avenue in Martinsburg on Monday afternoon.  Police say Crawford plotted the killing after a “heated argument” between the two on Sunday evening.  As the victim fled, Crawford reportedly fired a gun through the garage door, and then fired again as he ran toward the house.  The victim called police and officers later found the weapon hidden under a kitchen mat.  Reportedly, Crawford told authorities her husband was “evil and had to die.” Crawford is facing charges that include criminal attempt at criminal homicide, terroristic threats, and other related counts. She has been placed in the Blair County Prison where bail has been denied.  Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 5th.
