The chairman of the Allegheny County Republican Party is now running for lieutenant governor. Jason Richey announced he is seeking the office yesterday after being endorsed by likely Republican nominee for governor, State Treasurer Stacy Garrity. Richey says he had no initial plans to run for lieutenant governor, but decided to launch a bid for the office after speaking with Garrity, Senator Dave McCormick, and Republican donors.
