Altoona firefighters are currently at the scene of a house fire on 8th Street and 7th Avenue, one block from Greenbean Coffee House. Smoke could be seen billowing for blocks. There are unconfirmed reports that firefighters had to contend with a frozen hydrant, and it is not known if the home was occupied. No other information is known at this time.
