Authorities in Altoona have arrested a city woman following an investigation into a house fire that occurred last week. Altoona Police arrested 31-year-old Rebecca Grim, who allegedly admitted to starting fire in the home, in a hamper located in the attic. The home is located on the 1200 block of 2nd Avenue. While clearing the residence, authorities reportedly found a visibly upset Grim sitting on stairs. She is alleged to have admitted to starting the fire. She later was transported to UPMC Altoona for treatment of smoke inhalation. During a subsequent search, investigators reportedly discovered drug paraphernalia in the attic, and additional evidence of drug use throughout the residence. Grim has been charged with arson, risking catastrophe and other related counts. She has been placed in the Blair County where bail has been set at $75,000. Her preliminary hearing is set for February 18th.
