Two teenagers from Bucks County, Pennsylvania are charged for what police say was an ISIS-inspired bombing attempt outside the home of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani. NYPD says 19-year-old Ibrahim Kayumi, and 18-year-old Emir Balat threw improvised explosive devices during an anti-Islam protest and counter protest on Saturday. According to Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch, the two told officers they were inspired by ISIS, and wanted so-called “infidels” to die. The FBI and NYPD’s bomb squads did controlled detonations of the devices, and say they could have caused “death and destruction” if they went off as planned.
