Explosive Evidence Shared In Day Three Of Clearfield Bombing Trial

gavel-2

Jurors in the federal trial of Clint Addleman were given a chilling look yesterday at the technical skill behind the 2019 Clearfield explosion that claimed the life of Shanna Carlson.  A forensic expert testified that the device was far from amateur, consisting of dual explosive components and a detonator designed to trigger only when Carlson moved the package.   Beyond the technicalities, the court heard from witnesses who described a “secret room” in Addleman’s basement filled with wires, switches, and even a stick of TNT.  While the defense worked to discredit these witnesses based on their history of drug use, the prosecution used security footage of the blast—showing the home’s roof lifting under the pressure—to underscore the deadly intent behind the device.  The trial is to continue into next week.
