The average price of a gallon of gas is creeping closer to the four-dollar mark. Triple-A puts the national average at three dollars and 95 cents as we start off the week. Here at home, the average cost of a gallon of gas is three dollars and 99 cents. Drivers in California are paying well above that, at five-76 on average. They’re also paying more than five bucks in Hawaii and Washington State. A week ago, national averages were hovering around three-69 a gallon. A month ago, just before the start of the war in Iran they were at two-94.
