Federal immigration agents took one individual into custody in College Township, Centre County on Wednesday, an operation that State College Borough officials say occurred without the knowledge or participation of local law enforcement. The State College Police Department, which provides police services for College Township, confirmed the incident in a news release yesterday. According to the department, federal agents did not notify local authorities in advance, nor did State College Police assist in the apprehension. Reportedly the apprehension occurred Wednesday morning around 10:00, on East College Avenue.
