A 50-year-old Ebensburg man was identified by the Blair County Coroner as the victim of an early morning crash on I-99 near the Tyrone exit, in Snyder Township. Jason Hoppel was killed when he was struck head-on by another vehicle that was traveling southbound in the northbound lane. The accident happened around 6:00 this morning, and according to Blair County Coroner Ray Benton, Hoppel was pronounced dead at the scene. Reportedly, the driver of the other vehicle was taken to UPMC Altoona and is in critical condition. State police are continuing their investigation.
