A significant water main break occurred yesterday morning in Duncansville, leaving some homes and businesses facing potential water service disruptions. Crews from the Altoona Water Authority were dispatched to the scene along Second Avenue to repair a 16-inch main that ruptured. Those in the immediate vicinity and surrounding areas may experience low water pressure, or a complete loss of water while repairs are underway. Residents are also being cautioned that they may see “dirty” or discolored water once service begins to return. Officials noted that water testing is currently being conducted. Results to ensure the water is safe for consumption, may take between 36-72 hours.
