A 44-year-old Altoona man, identified as Michael Reed, is held without bail at Blair County Prison following an alleged attempt to kill a man with a box cutter during a jealous rage on Sunday. The incident occurred at a home along 41st Street. Altoona Police state Reed threatened to kill the victim, injured him in the chest, and sent threatening messages to a female acquaintance after being disarmed. Investigators noted that, according to the victims, Reed appeared to be under the influence at the time of the alleged attack. Reed is facing charges that include attempted homicide, and terroristic threats. His preliminary hearing has been scheduled for May 6th.
