A 23-year-old Centre County, Pa. man was sentenced to one year of probation and a $500 fine for posting threats against then-President-elect Donald Trump on TikTok days before the 2025 inauguration. Jacob Buckley, from Port Matilda, pled guilty to the federal charge, and was ordered to engage in mental health treatment after Judge Matthew W. Brann found no evidence he intended to carry out the threats, despite prosecutors pushing for prison time. Before his sentencing yesterday, Buckley, who has struggled with mental health, told the judge, “There is no excuse for why I did it” and “I wish I could take it back.”
