The Public Utility Commission announced yesterday that electricity prices are going to take a sharp turn upward just in time for the summer air conditioning season. The reports says that beginning June 1st. ,many customers will see their bills increase anywhere between 6 and 45%. The amount of your increase will depend on your electricity supplier. This increase will affect what are called default customers, those who choose not to have an electricity provider. Penelec, Citizens Electric, Met-Ed, Penn Power, PPL and West Penn Power all expect to raise their rates anywhere from 2 to almost 5 cents per kilowatt hour used. Check your bills.
