WJAC TV reported that newly hired school district police officer Karissa Grossman has resigned her position, just 3 months after she was hired. Grossman told Channel 6 that she resigned because she could not work without the proper support of a functioning police dept, and not under the auspices of the Westmont School District. Grossman said she cannot work the job if it is not taken seriously, which she said she takes very seriously. Grossman has worked as an officer in both Altoona and Somerset schools. She was hired following the discovery of a plot to commit a mass shooting at Westmont Hilltop last November. Grossman took a job last week with the Upper Yoder Twp Police Dept.
