Ford City VFW Post 4843 is offering 2025-2026 scholarships.  There’s “Patriot’s Pen” for grades 6-8.  It’s a written 300 word submission and “Voice of Democracy” is an audio-essay of 3-5 minutes for grades 9-12.  There are $500-$35,000 National awards.  Deadline for submission is October 10th at the Post located at 2125 Bailey Avenue in Ford City. Applications can be found at vfw.org under community and youth and education.  You can also pick up applications at the Ford City and Kittanning libraries.  There are also 2D and 3D ART scholarships due by March 15, 2026 with a national awards of $37,000.  Details at vfw.org.
