A report by WTAJ suggests that what is being called next generation 911 will be making its way into Pennsylvania with state of the art capability. Callers to 911 center will be able to send photos and video to 911 centers, which will give first responders more information before they arrive on scene. Also calls into 911 centers will be transmitted over an improved digital front, that will allow calls to get through faster and will give responders a better idea of their situation, and will improve response time. The Northern Tier counties of pa will be the first to get enhanced 911 capabilities, with the rest of the commonwealth 911 centers being brought on board over the course of the next year.
