A report in the Altoona Mirror indicates that Amtran and the Amalgamated Transit Union have reached a 3 year contract deal. The contract will provide wage increases for all three years, plus an increase in life insurance benefits and there will also be an increase in pension benefits. There will be a new healthcare plan in place for workers, with a slightly higher deductible for employees. Union reps said the biggest thing they wanted was higher wages to adjust for the massive inflation that has gripped the nation. The new deal goes into effect June 1st.
