In a 5-2 decision yesterday, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled that the current laws allowing no excuse mail in balloting are legal, and will stand. Several republican lawmakers filed a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the rules, but the democratically controlled court said that the rules in place are not unconstitutional and will stand. That means no excuse mail in votes will be accepted for the upcoming election in November where residents will choose a new governor and a U.S. Senator. The two dissenting votes came from the republican justices on the bench.
