A report out of Harrisburg states that the Governor this week has once again urged the state legislature to approve the pa opportunity program. That program has a simple directive, to send direct cash payments of $2000 to every household in Pennsylvania that earns less than $80,000 a year. The movement has stalled twice before because Republicans refuse to endorse or vote on the plan. The wolf administration says this will cost pa some $500 million, but that money could come from American Rescue Plan funds that the state received last year from Washington. Wolf says he has heard from people all across Pennsylvania how much this money would help them, and that they could start to recover from the effects of the pandemic.
