A report by WTAJ, indicates plans for a Rutters convenience store on a parcel of land along old rt 220 in Pinecroft is meeting resistance from a group concerned with the welfare of the Little Juniata River. One member of the group known as the Little Juniata River Association called the plans for the store not a store but a truck stop, and he is against the project. The group is worried about potential runoff from the store and its potential harmful effects it will have on the river. Another member of the group says that the stores runoff could increase the temperature of the water and harm fish that now swim in the river near the potential location of the store. A meeting is scheduled for tomorrow evening at 6:30 at the Pinecroft Volunteer Fire company to discus the issue.
