WJAC reports that 27 year old Paul Kendrick will go to trial next may for the 2018 killing of Sgt. Mark Baserman at the Somerset State Correctional facility. Kendrick is accused of attacking Baserman after the officer tried to remove a towel that was obstructing his view of Kendrick’s bunk. Kendrick is charged with kicking and beating Baserman to death. His lawyers say they are seeking have the trial moved out of somerset county because Kendrick will not receive a fair trial due to the high profile nature of the crime.
