A television report out of Pittsburgh indicates that the bill proposed by State Senator Chris Dush would make gym class optional for athletes who want to concentrate on furthering their studies. One former high school student now a college graduate said he would rather have taken more classes than having to play dodge ball during gym class. This bill would be limited to students who participate in school sports programs. The bill apparently has some bipartisan support in Harrisburg. Sen. Dush says that this bill would help many young people who are active in sport and school both.
