The Altoona Mirror reports that the commissioners are taking a serious look at the issue and are looking forward to moving ahead with installing new cameras, monitors, control devices and other related items. Bids submitted for the project have come under scrutiny in the past, and now the board says the latest round of proposals will have to be checked for engineering and legal review. Two bids are on the table, one from Westmoreland Electric Services for $2.73 million, and the second from Montgomery Technology Systems of Alabama at $1.37 million. 2 previous bids were rejected by the commissioners for not having full price for camera units on one bid, and a second bid not having a raised seal on its bid.
