For our latest “Local Song of the Week,” we head to southern Blair County for the latest single by Roaring Spring-based foursome The Pines! “That’s Alright” offers straight-up, rambunctious rock and roll, and – as the video depicts – a fun song meant to be cranked up loud! Guitarist Logan Warner, drummer Ben Brumbaugh, and bassist and keyboard player Alex Snyder first assembled in 2019 to play cover tunes, and three years later added singer Daman Mills to complete the present lineup. Since then, The Pines have emerged into a popular area rock band, playing a busy schedule of events and venues, and becoming a finalist nominee for the Youth Band award during last year’s 4th annual Central Pennsylvania Music Awards (CPMA’s) in Hershey! The Pines are again a finalist for Youth Band at this year’s CPMA’s, which will be presented on March 28 at the Hershey Theater. The group also already has a busy slate of shows for 2024 – including performances at this year’s Blair Creators Festival, the Pennsylvania Roundhouse Rally, Downtown Bedford’s 4th of July Celebration, the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts and Live At 5 in downtown State College, plus many appearances at restaurants, clubs and other live music venues! Keep watching for them on the stages, and keep listening for The Pines’ music on Q94 Classic Rock’s weekly local music program, the “Homegrown Rocker!”
