A Clearfield County man was denied bail again yesterday and learned his case is heading for trial. On March 14th, 43 year old David Lombardo allegedly strangled his 69 year old mother, Paula Lombardo, to death, in order to claim her life insurance policy and access her bank account. David Lombardo’s wife, reportedly testified yesterday that her husband confessed to the killing. That, and other evidence presented by the state was strong enough to send this case to trial. Lombardo has been charged with criminal homicide, strangulation and numerous other counts. He’s currently in the Clearfield County Prison.
