A Windber man is behind bars today after he allegedly kidnapped a woman over the weekend. Police in Somerset County say 37-year-old Tony Eppolito is accused of threatening the woman with a gun and holding her hostage inside his home in Windber Borough. On Sunday evening, the woman was able to escape and told police she hid in a nearby yard. Authorities also noted that a search of Eppolito’s home resulted in the discovery of drugs, drug paraphernalia, and a rifle. He faces numerous charges including felony kidnapping. He is currently in the Somerset County Prison in lieu of $200,000 bail.
