Authorities in Lawrence Township, Clearfield County, have arrested two men in connection with a string of thefts from drilling rigs. The suspects, identified as 51-year-old David Mikitko, and 46-year-old Randy Bertuzzi, were taken into custody early yesterday morning following a police surveillance operation at the Nabors Drilling rigs. During surveillance, officers observed a suspicious vehicle leaving the site and conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of a nearby truck stop. A search of the vehicle reportedly uncovered numerous stolen items from the rigs, as well as an undisclosed amount of methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. Mikitko and Bertuzzi face charges including burglary, theft, and drug possession. They are currently housed at the Clearfield County Jail pending further legal proceedings.
